Photography has been my passion since 2019, but recently, I took a big step: moving back to Kingman, Arizona and rebranding my business as Light and Laughter LLC. Yes you heard it. I'm back and even more determined than ever! This is more than a fresh re-start; it’s a chance to share my story, my family, and my dreams with the community of Kingman and beyond. As a mom of two energetic boys, a dog mom to two lively pups, and someone newly diagnosed with Addison’s disease, life is busy and full of challenges. Yet, every day brings new light and laughter that I want to capture through my lens.

Finding My Path in Photography and Family Life
When I started my photography business in 2019, I never imagined how much it would grow to mean to me. Photography is not just a job; it’s a way to connect with families, capture moments that matter, and tell stories through images. Being a mom to Alexander (10) and Ashton (12) has shaped how I see the world. Their energy, curiosity, and laughter inspire me every day. Alongside them, Duke and Scooby, my two boy dogs, add joy and chaos to our home.
Living in Kingman, Arizona, offers a unique backdrop for family photography and wedding photography. The natural light, the colors of the desert, and the Route 66 spirit - creates a perfect setting for memorable photos. I love exploring new locations with my camera, always looking for that perfect shot that tells a story.
ADHD as a Superpower and Living with Addison’s Disease
Managing ADHD means my mind is always buzzing with ideas and plans. It can be overwhelming, but I see it as a superpower that fuels my creativity and energy. It helps me juggle the many roles I play: mom, artist, baker, swimmer, and photographer. My son also has ADHD so it can become quite energetic in my home and life is ALWAYS full of surprises.
Recently, I received a new diagnosis of what they like to call Addison’s disease, which has added a new layer to my life. After moving to Prescott for a few years my gall bladder decided that it was going to collect pretty shiny things, and I ended up with over 100 gallstones. The doctor told me I was no longer able to keep them (bummer) and told me that sepsis was trying to take them anyway. Whoever she is, pshhhh. After an emergency removal that day and a two-week hospital stay, I learned that my adrenal glands no longer work and I am living on borrowed time. Oh, and I take steroids every day now so I'll probably get jacked or whatever. ;)
All jokes aside It's a challenge, but it also reminds me to slow down sometimes and appreciate the small moments. This personal story is part of what I want to share through my blog. Life isn’t perfect, but it’s full of light and laughter, and that’s what I want my photography to reflect.
Bringing Dreams to Life in Kingman
Picture this: a lively spot in Kingman where photography meets community vibes. I’m dreaming of opening a studio that’s anything but ordinary—think of it as a cool hangout that features an indoor park, a fun photography studio, a flexible event space, and a cozy coffee shop. It’ll be the perfect place for families to gather, make lasting memories, celebrate special moments, and just enjoy each other's company.
This idea grew from my amazing experiences with families during photo shoots and the joy my boys had at a free indoor park I found while living in Prescott, AZ. I’ve heard from so many parents about the challenge of finding safe and fun indoor spots for their kids, especially during those hot Arizona summers. By combining this need with my love for photography and community, I’m super excited to take a leap and turn this dream into a place that everyone in the community will cherish.
If you would like to donate to the project our go fund me is open for Donations! This project is going to take some time but with your help we can make it happen!
What to Expect from Light and Laughter LLC’s Blog
Through this blog, I want to introduce you to the families I meet, the stories I capture, and the people who inspire me along the way. Whether it’s a wedding, a family photo session, or a candid moment with my own boys, every story is worth telling.
I’ll share tips for family photography, ideas for capturing authentic moments, and updates on my journey toward opening the studio. I also plan to include personal reflections on balancing motherhood, health, and creativity.

Why Family Photography Matters to Me
Family photography is about more than just pictures—it's like capturing a time capsule of chaos! It’s about preserving those hilariously awkward moments that families can look back on for years and laugh until their sides hurt. I’ve seen how a single photo can bring back the warmth of a moment, the joy of a smile, or the bond between loved ones, even if that bond includes a sibling wrestling match in the background!
In Arizona, with its unique light and landscapes, family photography takes on a special character—like a cactus wearing sunglasses! I love helping families feel comfortable in front of the camera, especially kids who might be shy or restless. My approach is relaxed and fun, like a picnic where the ants are the only ones not invited. I capture genuine expressions and interactions, whether it’s a spontaneous dance-off or a surprise photobomb from the family dog!
Wedding photography is another passion of mine, and let me tell you, it’s a wild ride! Weddings are full of emotion and excitement, and being able to document those moments is a privilege—like being the designated cake-taster! I focus on telling the couple’s story through images that reflect their personalities and the spirit of their day, whether it’s a tearful vow or a dance move that should probably be classified as an Olympic sport.
Balancing Life’s Many Roles
Being a mom, artist, baker, and photographer means my days are a vibrant tapestry woven with creativity, chaos, and joy. Each morning is a new adventure, filled with the delightful sounds of my boys belting out karaoke tunes, their laughter echoing through the house as we transform our living room into a mini concert hall. There's something magical about sharing those moments—where the worries of the day fade away, and we simply enjoy the music and each other’s company.
When I'm not channeling my inner rock star, you can often find me diving into the refreshing waters of our many spots around the AZ desert. Swimming isn’t just a workout for me; it’s a meditative escape where I can clear my mind and let my thoughts flow freely. Weather its Topock, Havasu, Bullhead or Laughlin the water is always calling my name.
And then there’s my kitchen, my laboratory of flavors! Experimenting with new recipes is like embarking on a delicious journey. Whether I’m whipping up a decadent chocolate cake or trying my hand at homemade pasta, each dish is an opportunity to create something special for my family and friends. The joy of sharing these culinary creations is unmatched, especially when I see the smiles on their faces as they take that first bite. My bestie tells me it's my love language, so let me cook for you or whatever! :)
But life isn’t just about the fun and games. My journey is also shaped by ADHD, which keeps my mind racing with ideas and plans, always on the move. It’s a whirlwind of thoughts and creativity that fuels my passions but can also be overwhelming at times. On the other hand, living with Addison’s disease has taught me a valuable lesson: to listen to my body and recognize when I need to take a step back. Balancing these two aspects of my life isn’t always straightforward, but it has deepened my empathy for the families I work with, many of whom juggle their own busy lives and challenges.
This balance of energy and rest, creativity and self-care, allows me to connect with others on a deeper level. I understand the struggles and triumphs that come with managing a hectic life, and it inspires me to support those around me with compassion and understanding. In the end, it’s this blend of experiences that fuels my passion for art, baking, and photography, creating a beautiful mosaic of life that I cherish every day.
Looking Ahead: Growing within the Community
Kingman has welcomed me back with open arms, and I’m excited to grow more with Light and Laughter LLC here. I used to do business as Light and Laughter Photography, but this brand means and deserves to embody so much more. My goal is to build strong connections with families, travelers, and Route 66 lovers who appreciate the beauty of Arizona and the importance of capturing life’s moments, grow my business into something much bigger than just photography, and connect families, new friends, and maybe even help a couple come together along the way.
I invite you to follow along on this journey. Whether you’re a mom looking for family photography, a couple planning a wedding, or someone who loves stories about real life and big dreams, there will always be something here for you.
