From High School Sweethearts to Twin Toddlers (and Gravel Culinary Art)

Capturing a love story that comes full circle is easily the absolute best part of this job, but getting to shoot a high school sweetheart duo who now has twin toddlers? That’s next-level magic—and a tiny bit of sweet, chaotic wildness.

I recently hung out with Breanna and Ryan, who met way back in high school and somehow managed to transition from hallway crushes to effortlessly cool parents. Fast forward to now, and they are navigating life with twin baby girls who are nearly ONE. Let me tell you, watching these two handle double the baby duty with so much chill grace was an absolute vibe.

We met up at Wagon Trails late in the afternoon, right when that desert golden hour hits just right. The light was gorgeous, the scenery was glowing, and Breanna and Ryan looked like they stepped straight out of a magazine, glowing off in the background with that quiet, seasoned connection only couples who have been together forever really have.

Meanwhile, in the foreground, the main event was taking place. At nearly a year old, the twins have officially entered their supreme curiosity phase, which currently includes a very enthusiastic, newly discovered love for... tasting rocks. Yes, gravel was on the menu, and these little adventurers were thoroughly convinced those dusty Wagon Trails pebbles were an absolute culinary masterpiece.

Between swooping in to gently rescue small rocks from tiny mouths, coaxing out those massive double-trouble smiles, and watching Mom and Dad steal sweet, quiet glances while their girls giggled in the dirt, the afternoon was pure, unfiltered joy.
